Description nathan 2007-07-26 05:50:29 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Every time I try to open an image taken on my olympus stylus 770 SW digital camera, an error is generated which says "Plug-in cannot open image".
I have tried all resolutions from the camera, and the effect is the same.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to http://www.handlebarsandwich.com/bugs/ and download one of the images in that directory (either will work, they are both from the same camera)
2. Open that image through either a file-browser or in the "Open . . " dialog in the GIMP.

Actual results:
An error message occurs "Plug-in cannot open image" and the command line shows "/usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/jpeg: fatal error: Segmentation fault

Expected results:
The image would open.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

Other information:
These images also seem to crash fspot and gthumb when trying to save the images (although both programs are able to open and view the images).
