GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 45682
"New File ..." ability in Nautilus
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
PREFACE: This is a feature request I just wanted captured somewhere. In the File menu, and the Right-Click menu, there should be an option to create a "New File ...". The operation would simply do a "touch" of a file named "untitled file" and enable the renaming of the file and highlight the file name for renaming. This allows the user to rename the file to give it a name and to use with the appropriate extension for use with an application. Let the discussion begin... ------- Additional Comments From bfrank@eazel.com 2001-01-16 11:48:05 ---- BTW...this is a operation in GMC that we don't have yet. ------- Additional Comments From snickell@stanford.edu 2001-07-23 00:32:36 ---- Taking bugs previously assigned to Pavel, assigning them to myself. Will parse them out at my leisure , but many are GnomeVFS bugs we should look at for 2.0 ------- Additional Comments From jdub@aphid.net 2001-08-05 21:17:15 ---- See this bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1787 ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 20:51 ------- The original reporter (bfrank@eazel.com) of this bug does not have an account here. Reassigning to the exporter, unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org.
Discussion on this feature request: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41787 Changed priority to high because it is requested often - hope that's the correct usage ;-)
