GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 44687
Provide feedback while applications are starting up
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
When Nautilus launches an application (by double-clicking on the app's icon, or using an Open With menu or button, or opening a document with an external app) it would be nice to provide some sort of feedback such as a busy cursor or a special "loading" item in the task list applet until the application displays it's first window. One relatively easy way to do this is to use the `xalf' program to launch applications when available. Another option would be to implement something like this directly inside Nautilus, but that would require considerably more work. ------- Additional Comments From don@eazel.com 2000-12-20 13:39:17 ---- Well, let's decide on an approach here, figure out what it will cost us, and then turn this into a for real bug. ;) Seriously, this is a good idea. Who should make this evaluation about the user-visible behavior first? Arlo? ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 20:45 -------
Changing to "old" target milestone for all bugs laying around with no milestone set.
