GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 445618
crash in Network Manager: Attempting to cannect to...
Last modified: 2007-06-09 01:54:02 UTC
What were you doing when the application crashed? Attempting to cannect to a wireless network after booting up. The 3945 drivers don't seem to work in F7, but did in FC6. Interface defaulted to "master" in wireless settings. changed the interface wireless setting to "managed". After the change it crashes when attempting to "Connect to other Wireless...", via the network manager. With FC6 I had the ipw3945 daemon scripts. eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:19:B9:66:66:1C UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) Interrupt:18 lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:6351 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:6351 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:46586172 (44.4 MiB) TX bytes:46586172 (44.4 MiB) virbr0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:00:00:00:00 inet addr:192.168.122.1 Bcast:192.168.122.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::200:ff:fe00:0/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:51 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:9661 (9.4 KiB) wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:19:D2:4F:46:CD UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) wmaster0 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 00-19-D2-4F-46-CD-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) Distribution: Fedora release 7 (Moonshine) Gnome Release: 2.18.0 2007-03-23 (Red Hat, Inc) BugBuddy Version: 2.18.0 System: Linux 2.6.21-1.3194.fc7 #1 SMP Wed May 23 22:47:07 EDT 2007 x86_64 X Vendor: The X.Org Foundation X Vendor Release: 10300000 Selinux: Enforcing Accessibility: Disabled GTK+ Theme: Clearlooks Icon Theme: Echo Memory status: size: 410849280 vsize: 410849280 resident: 16850944 share: 11132928 rss: 16850944 rss_rlim: 18446744073709551615 CPU usage: start_time: 1181341009 rtime: 35 utime: 31 stime: 4 cutime:0 cstime: 0 timeout: 0 it_real_value: 0 frequency: 100 Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/nm-applet' (no debugging symbols found) Using host libthread_db library "/lib64/libthread_db.so.1". Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. Also, it appears that it works with the ipw3945 drivers instead of the iwl3945 drivers which were shipped by default. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 435036 ***
