The list of recently open documents show all documents that have been open not only by gnumeric but from other applications (.odt, .htm, .html, etc). I think that  the list should include only the files open with gnumeric

The first version was a bit agreesive and this has been fixed in current
code.

We deliberately do want to include more than just what Gnumeric was used
with.  For example, we want spreadsheets from OOo-calc that we can read
too.

Unfortunately in the version you have, we ended up with *.txt and *.html
too.  That's annoying.
