Hello, i am using gnome-cups-manager 0.31 and it is not very friendly with my laptop's battery. It wakes up and forks every 5s, tries to open some files, reads some stuff on a socket and then exits. I am attaching an strace output

I can confirm this for gnome-cups-manager 0.31-3ubuntu5 on Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn.
There is already an Ubuntu bug report under https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-cups-manager/+bug/59101 .

On my system it appears to be forking more then just 1 process every 5s. But that's because I have several printers attached via CUPS to my system.

But my strace is nearly identical, with the exception of multiple spawns.

Moving all gnome-cups-manager bugs to new product. Filter on Kjartan's spring cleaning.

"gnome-cups-manager" will not see active development anymore according to its
developers.
Closing this report as WONTFIX - Please feel free to reopen this bug report in
the future if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
