Description Brian 2007-04-30 13:34:16 UTC
Seperate the GTK+ runtime libraries that are built into guncash and use the separately available runtime libs
Comment 1 Christian Stimming 2007-04-30 16:03:03 UTC
We intentionally don't do this as long as there isn't something like a package manager available that will track and manage the version dependencies for us.

Feel free to reopen this bug or file it again when there is such a think available, but for now, we will provide the Windows package simply "the Windows way".
Comment 2 Brian 2009-04-25 14:19:20 UTC
i understand how it could be easier for version control purposes. However, I am using Pidgin for Windows and it too uses GTK which it separates out during installation.

It will update GTK when it installs pidgin and detects that GTK needs updating.

Ultimately the idea of separating gtk is that it's a shared library and that it would be inefficient for the all other opensource programs to package GTK in this manner.
