GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 434030
cover art transfered to MSDAP
Last modified: 2008-09-12 21:09:16 UTC
Could cover art be transfered to Mass Stoage device with options on what to name the file(folder.jpg, album art.jpg, etc) with sync.
Hi Scott, that would be great. Do you have info for your device and/or any others?
well recently I just been adding cover art to the MP3 tag less than 20KB 200x200. Though as a seprate file there isn't to many restrictions. I was thinking that it could be just an option if you can use it somthing like [X]Copy Cover art to Audio Player Name cover art as___________ .jpg Most mass storage devices work with a folder.jpg or ablum art.jpg or somthing simmilar for the Sansa e260 the ablum art.jpg in the ablum folder is fine. for the napster 1GB player it's folder.jpg i think but it has to be a certant size
While that approach would work, it would be much better to have information about each individual player and how it handles cover art in HAL so it would Just Work for everybody. To do that, we need to figure out what information we need and how to describe it in a fairly general way in HAL.
OK so in .is_audio_device have: ALBUMART=MUSIC/$ARTIST/$ALBUM/album art.jpg and as far as i know album art is handled similarly in on most MSD DAP's. there is and the sansa e200 series is just like the one above I don't own any others at the moment. So the info we need is pretty much is: needs to be .jpg the .jpg be in the album dir and the .jpg being 'album art, folder, cover.jpg' though most use windows album art and from that it's album art.jpg and folder.jpg
Please specify the latest version of banshee you have been able to test this against or let us know that this is no longer a problem. Thank you for helping us keep track of your bug.
