"the applet is unusable on a vertical panel. My suggestion is to optionally add a mode where only an icon is visible in the panel and which then pops up the text entry, much like deskbar-applet.

Alternatively the contact display can be called directly and a deskbar-applet plugin could fire it up when a contact is selected in deskbar."

contact-lookup-applet development has been stalled [1]. Maintainers don't have future development plan so i am closing the bugs as WONTFIX.
