There is a problem using GIMP with Windows Vista.
When it is loading it gets to the 'font' part and freezes, this is because the fonts are located in a different folder on Vista to XP, so it needs to be changed so that it finds the fonts in the correct location and doesn't freeze when it gets to this point.

Also, which version of GIMP and GTK are you using?

This is probably a dupicate of bug #378153, and I would mark it as NEEDINFO at this point.

This problem is now solved, it just took a while to find the fonts the first time I used it on Vista.
