What were you doing when the application crashed?
I unmounted a USB stick which I was browsing in gthumb (my own fault!)

Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find.

This is fixed in 2.8.0 and later, available at
http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/sources/gthumb.
