Description Loïc Minier 2007-04-06 13:55:49 UTC
Hi,

It would be nice if intltool-merge could have a flag to avoid outputting translated strings which are identical to the untranslated string. This would save a lot of space in some cases, one particular example I have in mind is gonme-applets's Locations.xml which has a huge number of duplicates for cities of the world translated in plenty of languages.

I don't know whether this could be turned on by default or not.

Bye,

As binary .mo catalogs would also benefit from this space saving, maybe this could be done at the gettext level.
