What were you doing when the application crashed? I right-clicked a message and selected 'edit as new message' Distribution: Debian 4.0 Gnome Release: 2.18.0 2007-03-17 (Debian) BugBuddy Version: 2.18.0 System: Linux 2.6.18-4-k7 #1 SMP Wed Feb 21 16:48:19 UTC 2007 i686 X Vendor: The X.Org Foundation X Vendor Release: 70101000 Selinux: No Accessibility: Disabled GTK+ Theme: Clearlooks Icon Theme: gnome Memory status: size: 146677760 vsize: 146677760 resident: 48062464 share: 21536768 rss: 48062464 rss_rlim: 4294967295 CPU usage: start_time: 1175561050 rtime: 13108 utime: 9423 stime: 3685 cutime:44 cstime: 39 timeout: 0 it_real_value: 0 frequency: 100 Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/evolution-2.8' Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/i686/cmov/libthread_db.so.1". Before you ask, debugging packages _are_ installed ;) This seems to happen every time I try and use 'edit as new message' on a message in my sent folder that was sent encrypted with PGP. Hope that is enough for someone else to reproduce this.
varadhan: patch attached at bug 315012. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 315012 ***
Are you sure this is a dupe of that bug? I am able to open encrypted messages fine -- it is only when I try and 'edit as new message' that I get the crash. Also the backtrace looks different, although there isn't a lot of detail in mine...
well, then it's a dup of bug 342279 (that i also marked as a dup of 315012). may a second person should decide, and a better stacktrace... :-/
I'll try to get a stack trace after I have solved http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=417656 and can run Evolution again... I've no idea why I get such crummy stack traces from bug-buddy even though all the debugging symbols are right in the right place, etc. :(

same error here in evolution 2.10. I was hoping to see this bug fixed sooner :(
Possible fixed in trunk since 2007-08-16 with patch from bug #350539, which means in evolution-data-server 1.12.0. You will see that the message body will be empty in new mail, instead of crash, I guess.
