GnuCash dont provide the easy possibility for searching invoices by the BillingID.
For some reason a easy possibility for searching invoices by the JOBID is allready implemented in gnucash.
From my side of view this should be also done in the exact same way for the BillingID.

Thank you for your report and apologies nobody responded earlier.

I tested the current stable gnucash version (2.4.7) and in that version it is possible to search on for invoices on billing ID.

I successfully did this as follows:
- Choose Business->Customer/Vendor->Find Invoice/Bill...
- In the search dialog, the first drop down selector contains Billing ID as the eighth entry.
- I entered a billing ID I was sure I used for a Bill and clicked find
=> This found my bill successfully.

I'm really surprised nobody responded to this one before as I trace this feature back at least 8 years (then I stopped searching), so it must have been there since at least 2003.
