GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 420616
Save dialog is too short
Last modified: 2007-04-11 23:48:41 UTC
Please describe the problem: When saving a file, in gedit or openoffice for example, the save dialog is very short and shows only one or two rows of directories/files. This means the dialog needs to be manually resized every time one needs to save a file. The open dialog on the other hand shows 7-8 lines, which is fine. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a text file in gedit, the open dialog is long enough to show 7-8 lines of directories/files 2. Save as the same file, the save dialog is now too short to easily browse folders and files 3. Actual results: Expected results: You would expect the save dialog to show the same number of rows of directories/files as you see in the open dialog Does this happen every time? Every time Other information: I am attaching two screenshots, one of the open dialog and one of the save dialog.

I can confirm this behaviour and it is very annoying having to resize the dialog every time. I understand that for low resolutions screens this might be a desirable effect, but it feels very wrong in mine (1440x900).
Same exact problem here on Edgy Eft and gtk-2.10.6. It's a very annoying behaviour...
I can also confirm this "bug". It is very annoying!
