Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately, that stack trace is missing some elements that will help a lot to solve the problem, so it will be hard for the developers to fix that crash. Could you please install some debugging packages [1], start the application as normal, and reproduce the crash, if possible? Once bug-buddy pops up, you can find the stacktrace in the Details, now containing way more information. Please copy that stacktrace and paste it as a comment here. Thanks in advance! [1] debugging packages for evolution, evolution-data-server, gtkhtml, gtk, glib, gnome-vfs, libgnome and libgnomeui (as far as those packages are provided by your distribution). More details can be found here: http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces
Hi. Evo crashed on me hard again. The dupfinder does not say that trace matches this one, and the circumstances are different, so I filed a new report. But since it's on my same machine perhaps it is still useful information. That is Bug 420162. I have since installed tons more debug packages -- I searched in the package manager for "dbg" and installed every one that would install without requiring other dependencies: I installed dozens of packages. So maybe there is some good trace info in there. As I said in that report, System Manager again reports 3GB of virtual memory for Evolution. It is definitely leaking memory/swap very consistently -- seemingly always when I use it. And I do use it all the time. I just have to quit it frequently to prevent these crashes; and I tend to have to compose longer messages with the text editor since Evo usually crashes by the time I'm done. Thanks!
Created attachment 84984 [details] Bug Buddy Output From Evolution Crash While Quitting Evo crashed again on me while quitting. Though the dupfinder says this trace matches Bug #339369 and I did attach the traces there, it's the same circumstances as this bug, and on this same machine, so it seems related. Here's the traces: I have installed dozens of debug packages since the last report. Thanks!
