Patch for ga.po

I'm not a fluent speaker and thus it may be wise to check over my translations. I'm especially unsure of the word I used for screenshot in "Take Screenshot..." and the proper capitalization for "Meáin So-bhainte"

Updated patch for ga.po

I've added a large number of strings to the patch and updated the PO with the latest gnome-panel template.

Sean, checking the file with "msgfmt -vc ga.po", it complains that the Plural string is missing.
Could you add the Plural string for Irish in the patch, and check the file with msgfmt?

Hi Sean,
Some news about this problem?
Looking for the Irish Plural string in other places, it seems it should be:
"Plural-Forms: nplurals=3; plural=(n==1 ? 0 : n==2 ? 1 : 2);\n"

Could you confirm this?

Plurals in Irish are fairly complicated and I'm not entirely sure how to deal with them in gettext. The gettext manual does specifically mention Irish with the form you've given, but this leaves a number of things unhandled. One has one form, two another, three through six another and seven through ten another. After that, the number form is the same as the final number. Numbers ending in one are an exception, and have another form, then numbers divisible by ten that aren't ten have yet another form. Zero could be difficult, as I know of no simple way to say "zero somethings". The best way I know of to do so would be to change the sentence entirely. To demonstrate the way numbers are distributed, an example:

The plurals for "year":
1: bliain/bliain amháin/1 bhliain amháin
2: 2 bhliain
3-6: 3-6 bliana
7-10: 7-10 mbliana
11: 11 bhliain
12: 12 bhliain
13-16: 13-16 bliana
17-19: 17-19 mbliana
20: 20 bliain

I think the syntax would be as follows:

"Plural-Forms: nplurals=8; plural=n==1 ? 0 : n%10==1 ? 1 : n%10==2 ? 2 : (n%10>=3 && n%10<= 6) ? 3 : (n%10>=7 && n%10<=9) ? 4 : n==10 ? 5 : n==0 ? 6 : 7;\n"

This seems mildly excessive and I may have entirely missed the point. Additionally, I'm not totally sure about the syntax. Before I go and create eight plural form messages for each sentence requiring them, I'd appreciate feedback.

I think it should be discussed between other gaelic translators, maybe try to contact the KDE team http://www.kde.ie/ga.php
In the meantime we could use the "minimal" 3-forms string.

Updated patch for ga.po

While this is still temporary, I've combined a few plural forms that should be identical. Further, I believe the zero form can be covered by another form, so I've eliminated it as a special case. I've sent an email to the gaeilge-gnulinux project (responsible for the KDE translation) to get some feedback, but for the time being the Plural-Forms entry I've added should cover most cases correctly. It passes a msgfmt check here.

I've committed this on GNOME 2.20, as there won't be any new release in the GNOME 2.18 branch.
