GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 413556
NetworkManager should use NETWORKMANAGER_0_6_0_RELEASE branch
Last modified: 2007-03-05 18:16:45 UTC
According to a recent Changelog entry [1], NetworkManager HEAD can be considered as unstable, and the 0.6 branch should be used. According another Changelog entry [2], jhbuild already uses this branch for gnome 2.18. [1]: http://svn.gnome.org/viewcvs/NetworkManager/trunk/ChangeLog?revision=2309&view=markup [2]: http://svn.gnome.org/viewcvs/jhbuild/trunk/ChangeLog?revision=1371&view=markup,
Seems that network-manager-applet has now his own module [1]. If I understand correctly: - Only the network-manager-applet module should be listed in desktop - GNOME 2.18 will use the network-manager-applet-0-6 branch. - NetworkManager module should be moved to extras Danilo, can you confirm this? You have to use the ID as found in the SVN: NETWORKMANAGER_0_6_0_RELEASE (see http://svn.gnome.org/viewcvs/NetworkManager/branches/), or damned-lies won't be able to pick it up.
Btw, we definitely need explanation from NetworkManager maintainers about all this: "totally break NetworkManager" doesn't sound nice at this point in time.
I used the ID in the network-manager-applet, not in NetworkManager. Mail sent to Dan.
Ah, right, sorry for the confusion :)
Committed.
Can we close this bug, since the fix was committed? :-)
Sure ;)
