See bug 329129 for background information. To losslessly rotate a jpeg file, the dimensions need to be multiples of 8. Your image is 1024 x 683. 683 is not divisible by 8.

Version 2.9.1 handles this situation better. It will offer to trim the image slightly.

Ok Thanks for your answer. I wanted to try 2.9.1 version but it seems that it not compatible with gtk+ 2.8.
