Description John Sullivan 2001-09-10 00:56:28 UTC
If an application can open multiple files with one call, Nautilus should invoke
it that way when the selection contains multiple files of the same type.

Probably involves grouping the selected files into sets, then handling each set
separately.

All of these seem desirable, but deferrable (in my overrulable opinion).

Setting all bugs to P6 to start official bug-prioritization plan. Please don't
set the priority to anything other than P6 unless you've got the gold seal of
approval for doing so.

Batch-assigning QA ownership of remaining bugs to eli@eazel.com

In the GNOME control center when editing or adding an application to handle an
extension (which can be gotten to by right clicking on a file and selecting Open
With... Other Viewer... Go There) there is an option that tells GNOME whether
the application can handle multiple files or not. It is rather sad that
selecting that option does not work for Nautilus.

This feature prevents the external application from being invoked numerously
which can slow down the machine.

Comment 1 Jakub Steiner 2001-10-29 21:30:36 UTC
would also be cool if only applications set-up in gnomecc to handle
multiple files would show up in "open with.." menu. In case there was
a multiple-files-selection active that is.

Changing to "old" target milestone for all bugs laying around with no milestone set.
