GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 403659
adding contacts to a list doesn't work correctly
Last modified: 2009-04-07 04:34:41 UTC
That bug has been described on https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/78199 "When trying to make a listserv consisting of 600 people and using the "select " option to make the list each name on the list is duplicated 4 times, one of which has the e-mail address. Also, only one address seems to show when attempting to draft/send a message.Version is Evolution 2.6.1. ... > Thank you for your bug. What do you call "listserv"? Could you describe some easy steps to trigger the problem from a stock installation? ... Thank you for responding to my report. I should have used contact list instead of listserv. Everyone I know uses listserv which may be a term from Outlook Express. Sorry for causing the confusion. When trying to setup a contact list, I have been successful in making short lists of 10 to 20 addresses where each is added individually or perhaps several at a time but the list I am working on now has 660 people and when copying and pasting that many it does not seem to create the whole list. Also, when creating the list it will show 4 of each person's name only one of which has the email address. The others have street addresses or no information about the person. There is only one card for each person In the contact list. I created the list from an Excel file which was converted to a .csv file and then imported to Evolution to setup the contact list. The steps to that I am following are: Select evolution "contacts" Select mailing list ( ie: Personal List or other created list) Select "new > contact list In contact list editor: Type name for List name Click on "Select" In Contact list Editor Click on an address and Ctrl A Click on Add Return to contact list editor: Left click "add" and "ok" I hope this helps to clarify the problem I encoutered. Thanks, Scotty Michaelsen"
This is the same problem as bug #364264.
Bumping version to a stable release.
It works fine here in 2.24.4, can you please give a try and report back, thanks.
