In gnome-screensaver we have a copy of the fusa code.  The only change that I have to make is to disable the xnest features.  It would be useful if we can add an ifdef WITH_XNEST to the fusa upstream so it is easier to sync with the g-s copy.

gnome-screensaver uses gdm directly these days.
