GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 398540
KDE apps flash in the window list when switching desktops
Last modified: 2007-01-31 17:05:35 UTC
Please describe the problem: This was initially filed as an Ubuntu bug at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libwnck/+bug/78511, but I am encountering the exact same problem running Gnome in Gentoo 2006.1, so I thought I should file it as a Gnome bug. When KDE applications are open (i.e. Amarok, kcontrol) in Gnome, if the user switches desktops, those apps will flash as if they have been tagged "urgent" and will appear in the window list in every desktop. The only way to get rid of this is to give the windows focus. As with the other reporter, this is 100% reproducible for me. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open one or more KDE applications 2. Switch to a different desktop, then switch back to the desktop in which the KDE apps are open. Actual results: The entries in the window list for the KDE apps flash and appear in the window list in every desktop until they are given focus. Expected results: Nothing. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information:
