GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 397650
Wrong selection with umlauts
Last modified: 2013-07-04 03:15:37 UTC
When selecting stuff in pdf files I often end up with wrong selections when for example german umlauts are involved. An example: --- a a Danach kann die Be- nutzerin aus allen Gruppen-IDs eine ausw¨hlen. Daraufhin wird ein Textfeld angezeigt, a --- correctly it would be: --- Danach kann die Be-nutzerin aus allen Gruppen-IDs eine auswählen. Daraufhin wird ein Textfeld angezeigt, ---

It's probably related to bug 439070

The same error happens with Herbrew letters as indicated on the duplicate bug 526409
Confirmed on trunk.
Hmm, I can't reproduce it anymore... I somehow lost the PDF document which had this behavior. If some of you have such a document please attach it to the thread so that one can reproduce this issue.
It seems to work fine with a few random German PDFs I tried. However, the selection is still wrong in the Hebrew PDF from duplicate bug 526409.
Created attachment 149043 [details] testcase Here's a minimal (german) testcase. Pasting the first line results in: --- ao ̈ ̈ ̈uß ---
Created attachment 149044 [details] testcase source And this is the source .tex file... I used pdflatex to render the .pdf file.
Can anyone reproduce the problem with the pdf I attached?
I certainly can.
Anyone working on it?
