What were you doing when the application crashed? like http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397408 when scolling window bar faster then nautilus to make thumbs on a big (279 objects) folder (/usr/share/openclipart/svg/signs_and_symbols). Nautilus also crash when try to make thumbs on flash (.swf) files.
