In bug#102705 the code was changed from RUB to RUR, implemented in http://svn.gnucash.org/trac/changeset/7810 which was well before 1.8.x. Is there another changeover by now which switched back from RUR to RUB (which I can't really believe)? If yes, please provide a trustworthy website that explains this. Thanks.

I really don't know about any changeover happenned. But anyway I have one account in russian roubles and it doesn't update through finance:quote, when you use command line it gives you results when you use RUB, not RUR.
By the way on the site of Bank of Russia there is RUB as a code. So I think RUB is valid currently. http://www.cbr.ru/eng/main.asp

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_ruble says: The ISO 4217 currency code for the Russian ruble is RUB; the former code, RUR, refers to the Russian ruble prior to the 1998 denomination (1RUB=1,000RUR).

Ok, we'll change this. Thanks for pointing this out.

Fixed in trunk r15421: awaiting audit so that it'll be in 2.0.5.
Comment 5 Derek Atkins 2007-01-28 04:13:39 UTC
Backported to 2.0 in 15442.
Should be in 2.0.5
