Description caleb.marcus 2006-12-31 04:27:18 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When a new file/folder is created or an old file/folder is renamed to begin with ".", it remains showing until the folder is refreshed. Not sure if that's a bug in itself, though. The problem is that before the folder is refreshed, and the file is still there, when that file/folder is moved to the trash using the delete key it remains there until the folder is refreshed. However, it shows up in the trash.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Set Nautilus to NOT show hidden files (default)
2. Create a file or folder from the context menu with a name beginning with .
3. Select it and hit the Delete key

Actual results:
If there's already a file/folder with the same name in the trash, the file renames itself as if it is a copy, but doesn't disappear until the folder is refreshed. However, it appears in the trash, as if it's in two places at once.

Expected results:
The file should disappear from the folder it's deleted from.

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Other information:
Using Ubuntu 6.10, not sure if it's relevant.
