Description Paolo Borelli 2006-12-30 16:58:40 UTC
I just tried iagno 2.17, which features a new default theme etc.

The deafult board size is way bigger than in 2.16. It barely fits in my 1280x800 laptop screen and would be even worse on a 1024x768 screen which is still the most common resolution on existing computers.
Comment 1 Thomas Andersen 2006-12-30 19:51:12 UTC
The size of the tiles have been increased from 60x60 to 80x80 pixel in 2.17. This is the reason for the bigger board size. The new size makes the game playable in 1024x768 but just barely.

I don't know the reason for this change but for now I would call this one a duplicate of http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80240 and hope it gets fixed there.
Comment 2 Paolo Borelli 2006-12-30 20:00:07 UTC
The fact that games should be resizable is true, but this doesn't change the fact that this change should IMHO be reverted. The gnome guidelines say that programs should be usable also at least at 800x600 resolution which is still common in old machine and offices.

Hello Paolo,

Iagno should be made resizable, that is the proper way to solve this bug IMHO.

A short term solution for Iagno would be to distribute it with both a 60x60 and a 80x80 theme (the new default 80x80 theme, and the old 60x60 theme). So unless there are any objections to this, I'll commit a fix for that soon.

Iagno is at the moment playable at 1024x768, but not 800x600. The GNOME HIG doesn't specify a minimum screen resolution.
