Description Hylke Bons 2006-12-10 17:36:56 UTC
Looks really nice and indicates that the application is currently loading.
Now there is no indication except the mouse pointer.

Here's a video mockup by jimmac:

Video is at http://jimmac.musichall.cz/images/guimockups/xgl/feedback_complete.ogg

There are three things I like in this video:

+ the way the icon changes when clicking on the launcher (this would be a nautilus/panel improvement)

+ the way the other button in the tasklist moves to make place for the new button

 + the throbber.
Comment 2 Hylke Bons 2007-02-17 18:59:33 UTC
You think any of this is possible?
Comment 3 Vincent Untz 2007-02-17 19:42:41 UTC
Yes. We just need someone with time to do it :-)

Something like this?

Add spinner to startup applications

Adds spinner from epiphany [1] when starting application. Also changed the text from "Starting [app]" to just "[app]".

(I'm no ninja at build scripts so take a look at them before committing)

[1] Actually took it from nautilus. Also changed the speed from 125 ms to 75 and of course a smaller spinner.

Would this be reviewed if ported to GtkSpinner?
