gthumb crashes when renaming two extensionless images

Please describe the problem: Gthumb crashes when renaming two jpg images whose name hasn't the .jpg extension Steps to reproduce: 1. rename a "*.jpg" file removing the ".jpg" trailing part 2. duplicate it (via right button contestual menu) 3. select the image and its duplicate 4. hit F2 in order to rename them -> crash Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
present in 2.7.9 too
