GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 376963
How can I set up my modem not to wait for the Dial Tone (ATX1 command)?
Last modified: 2012-11-24 20:30:13 UTC
Please describe the problem: Hello, I am just trying to make my modem work, but for this I need to tell the modem not to wait for the Dial Tone. As far as I know this is done by sending the ATX1 command to the modem, but how can I convince network-manager to send this command prior dialing the phone number? By the way, I am using Ubuntu 6.06 LTS, Dapper Drake. Best regards, Dominik Steps to reproduce: 1. Simply try to convince the modem not to wait for the Dial Tone. Actual results: I am not able to find any possibility to set this kind of setup. Expected results: Does this happen every time? Sure, because it seems that it is not possible to make this setup. Other information:
This belongs to another product. Gnome Nettool is not for setting anything. I changed to gnome-system-tools, where this belong.
Ubuntu bug about that: https://launchpad.net/products/gst/+bug/71807
According to its developer(s), gnome-system-tools is not under active development anymore. Functionality has been mostly integrated into GNOME Control Center / "[System] Settings". It is unlikely that there will be any further active development.
