GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 374021
In Banshee 0.11.2 during importing music works only systemio
Last modified: 2006-12-02 18:47:45 UTC
I've met with Banshee 0.11.2 and mono 1.2 broken unix and gnomevfs. Banshee produce no debug output - just not add files into database. % sudo emerge --info Portage 2.1.2_rc1-r5 (default-linux/x86/2006.1/desktop, gcc-4.1.1, glibc-2.5-r0, 2.6.18-suspend2 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.18-suspend2 i686 Intel(R) Celeron(R) M processor 1.50GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.12.6 Last Sync: Sat, 11 Nov 2006 01:50:01 +0000 distcc 2.18.3 i686-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [disabled] ccache version 2.4 [enabled] dev-java/java-config: 1.3.7, 2.0.30 dev-lang/python: 2.4.4 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.0.1-r5 dev-util/ccache: 2.4-r6 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.18.1 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.60 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2, 1.10 sys-devel/binutils: 2.17 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.3.14 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.17-r1 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 ~x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-Os -march=pentium-m -mmmx -msse -msse2 -mfpmath=sse -pipe -momit-leaf-frame-pointer -ggdb" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/share/X11/xkb" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/env.d /etc/env.d/java/ /etc/gconf /etc/java-config/vms/ /etc/revdep-rebuild /etc/terminfo /etc/texmf/web2c" CXXFLAGS="-Os -march=pentium-m -mmmx -msse -msse2 -mfpmath=sse -pipe -momit-leaf-frame-pointer -ggdb" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig ccache distlocks metadata-transfer parallel-fetch sandbox sfperms splitdebug userfetch userpriv" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/gentoo/ ftp://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/gentoo/ http://mirror.uni-c.dk/pub/gentoo/ http://trumpetti.atm.tut.fi/gentoo/ ftp://trumpetti.atm.tut.fi/gentoo/ http://src.gentoo.pl http://gentoo.prz.rzeszow.pl http://gentoo.zie.pg.gda.pl http://gentoo.po.opole.pl ftp://gentoo.po.opole.pl http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/gentoo/ ftp://mirror.switch.ch/mirror/gentoo/ " LANG="en_US.UTF-8" LC_ALL="en_US.UTF-8" LDFLAGS="-Wl,--as-needed -Wl,-O1" LINGUAS="en_GB en_US pl" MAKEOPTS="-j1" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --delete-after --stats --timeout=180 --exclude=/distfiles --exclude=/local --exclude=/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage /usr/portage/local/layman/java-gcj-overlay /usr/portage/local/layman/java-experimental /usr/portage/local/layman/java-migration-packages /usr/portage/local/layman/ecatmur /usr/portage/local/layman/bmg /usr/portage/local/layman/initng" SYNC="rsync://rsync.europe.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 X aac acl acpi alsa avalon bash-completion beagle berkdb bitmap-fonts bzip2 cairo calendar cddb cdparanoia cdr cli cracklib crypt cups curl curlwrappers dbus dlloader dri dvd dvdr eclipse eds elibc_glibc emacs emboss encode esd evolution exif expat fam firefox flac flash fortran fuse galago gcj gconf gdbm gif glut gmail gnome gnutls gpm gstreamer gstreamer10 gtk gtk2 gtkhtml hal iconv imap input_devices_keyboard input_devices_mouse ipod ipv6 isdnlog jabber java jpeg jpeg2k jython kernel_linux keyring libg++ libgda libnotify linguas_en_GB linguas_en_US linguas_pl logrotate lucene mad madwifi maildir mhash mikmod mmx mono mozilla mp3 mpeg mule nautilus ncurses networkmanager nfs nls nntp no-old-linux nptl nptlonly nsplugin ntpl ogg oggvorbis openal opengl pam pcre pdf perl png pop postgres ppds pppd python quicktime readline reflection rhino ruby samba sdl seamonkey session soap sourceview spell spl sqlite sse sse2 ssh ssl subversion svg symlink tcpd tetex theora threads truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev unicode usb userland_GNU video_cards_radeon vorbis wifi xml xml2 xorg xsl xv zlib" Unset: CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, INSTALL_MASK, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS
the bug is also confirmed on archlinux an foresight: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/5863 https://issues.foresightlinux.org/browse/FL-63 after running: gconftool-2 --set /apps/Banshee/IOBackend --type string systemio everything works fine. my guess is that this isn't wanted behavior?
This is a bug in Mono and there's nothing we can do about it from the Banshee level. The bug is found in Mono 1.2 and Mono 1.2.1 - it is fixed for 1.2.2. For more information: http://bugzilla.ximian.com/show_bug.cgi?id=79914
