Last modified: 2007-09-03 16:46:12 UTC
Version: 2.15.5 What were you doing when the application crashed? I already reported this bug (as 364107 same as 362698) Just tried to open it??? When i first (clean) installed edgy. I tried to enter my gateway and it just didn't work and the box would be blank when i reopened networking so i ended up modifying /etc/network/interfaces (well i just copied it from my dapper box) it now reads: # The loopback network interface auto lo iface lo inet loopback # The primary network interface auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address 192.168.0.7 netmask 255.255.255.0 network 192.168.0.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255 gateway 192.168.0.1 # dns-* options are implemented by the resolvconf package, if installed dns-nameservers 203.2.75.132 198.142.0.51 Distribution: Ubuntu 6.10 (edgy) Gnome Release: 2.16.1 2006-10-02 (Ubuntu) BugBuddy Version: 2.16.0 Memory status: size: 33894400 vsize: 0 resident: 33894400 share: 0 rss: 11608064 rss_rlim: 0 CPU usage: start_time: 1161611216 rtime: 0 utime: 42 stime: 0 cutime:38 cstime: 0 timeout: 4 it_real_value: 0 frequency: 1 Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/network-admin' Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/i686/cmov/libthread_db.so.1". Dear reporters, can somebody please help the developers to fix this by telling us which icon theme he/she is using, and if it crashes when changing it? Thanks a lot for your help!
Same crashtacular result with all themes. Including ubuntu human.

Has anyone experienced this bug under a different distro to ubuntu?
This is the first time I have seen this bug. I've been using edgy for about 3 weeks, and didnt have a problem configuring networking at install time. I only noticed this bug a few days ago. Currently using industrialtango theme but I dont think that is relevant. tool crashes if starting from system->admin menu, and also if started from command line with 'network-admin' but starts successfully with 'sudo network-admin'. It doesn't ask for root access if started as a normal user from the command line, but crashes instead. let me know if any other info is required. Jeff
I may have also been using IndustrialTango the first time this crash occoured. network-admin seems to now launch from the menus after a change of theme and restart, although it did not prompt for a password. Will not use industrialtango for a while and will see if the crash happens again.

The current stable version (2.18.x) hasn't received any similar stacktrace which means it's fixed there, I'm closing the bug.
