Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately, that stack trace is missing some elements that will help a lot to solve the problem, so it will be hard for the developers to fix that crash. Can you get us a stack trace with debugging symbols? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Thanks in advance! Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 367701 ***

This looks like icon cache corruption to me. It would be very helpful if somebody who sees this could attach /usr/share/icons/<THEME>/icon-theme.cache for the icon theme in use at the time of the crash, plus the icon-theme.cache files for inherited icon themes.

I deleted all the icon-theme.cache files in /usr/share/icons/<THEME>, and it went ok. Is that file being corrupted?

Hi, sorry - not sure how to report this correctly (I've never used a bug tracker before). My crash report (with stack trace) is here: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420017 The corrupted (gnome) file - named "icon-theme.cache" is located here (6.4MB): http://www.boundlesssupremacy.com/Cappy/crashicons/ Deleting the corrupted icon-theme.cache resolved my problem (nautilus kept crashing over and over).

I was looking for some docs via web as far as the wine application is concerned. My intention is to find how to run a simple graphical application that has been written natively on MS 98 2nd ed (c++). Each time i try to read docs nautilus crash. One problem that I've understood is due to the disk size. When gnome starts the copy size is too large for the remaining space. I'll add a new disk and I'll move my inst. to this new one. I'll report all next. Thanks Andrea
I've just committed an icon-cache validator to trunk, that should help with a) not creating broken icon caches, and b) let apps not crash in the presence of broken icon caches. I still have no idea how the icon caches become broken in the first place.
