GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 362102
No reconnect after suspend
Last modified: 2008-09-06 15:58:39 UTC
If I suspend my machine (swsusp), ekiga is not able to reconnect to my sip server automatically after resume. I don't know if there are any (standardized) system-wide notifications for suspend, so ekiga can detect it, but some remote control interface to make ekiga disconnect and reconnect would be a good start. Otherwise, connection errors should lead to a (configurable) automatic reconnect.
That would be nice to handle suspends, indeed.
I have a similar problem on SUSPEND. When I resume from suspend, the net connection won't work. I need to "ifdown" it and "ifup" it, then the net connetion will work properly. I am using a Asus M2N-e motherboard with a Athlon x2 3800+CPU, The system is Fedora Core 6. Btw, I have encounted the same problem when the system is FC5 several days ago.
Uh... if you have to run ifdown/ifup, then it's not an ekiga issue!
I can confirm this bug on Kubuntu. It is quite annoying because I have to click Edit->Accounts and then uncheck the checkbox and check it again every time I resume my laptop.
Please mark as confirmed.
Any progress on this?
It is finally implemented. Ekiga is now able to react to interfaces changes (See Bug #324564). I have double checked things and it seems it works now.
