Description Bastien Nocera 2006-10-11 20:53:19 UTC
From bug 347737:
---8<---
I would like to see that the right or left screen, which ever is not being used
for the full screen movie, have the ability to shut off when you are whatching
a moving. It may be moving to far away from the simple setup. But I doubt a
small tick marker inthe settings wouldn't hurt, when your wanting to have the
screen shut off. Many games do this. I think it is because the resolution
changes... but none the less, I think it would be nice. Right now... I just
shut the screen off. But that means my remote control and other what not are a
little less useful.
---8<---

It would be useful for Totem to be able to put the "other" screen into DPMS, and not wake it up unless we exited fullscreen.

I'm assuming the reporter is talking about xinerama "screens"? As far as I know the DPMS ext. controls are per display so different screens or "monitors" aren't handled separately.

Damn. Keith told me we should blank the unused screens, let's blame him.

Hate to tell you, but I use twin view... so it sounds like your work has doubled. (I am the original poster)
Comment 4 Bastien Nocera 2006-10-31 15:46:57 UTC
Keith, is it possible to turn off one specific xinerama (or twinview) screen?
Comment 5 William Jon McCann 2011-03-06 06:51:49 UTC
If we want to do this at all it will be with backlight not the screen lock.
