GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 360441
Don't copy a newline to the clipboard with a file path
Last modified: 2006-10-19 14:28:14 UTC
Select a file in nautilus. Do Copy. Now do paste in a text context, eg in a location field, or xchat, or gedit. The full path to the file is pasted (this is a very handy feature by the way :) However, a newline is at the end of the path. This is bad in nearly all contexts: in a location dialog, you get an unicode symbol that you have to remove. In xchat you get a return, which you maybe didn't want.
Thanks for your bug report! Confirming, updating version.
Created attachment 74219 [details] [review] Proposed patch Also submitted for review: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/nautilus-list/2006-October/msg00022.html The posting also discusses using "uri1, ..., uriN" for multiple URIs instead of forcing newlines.
Committed, closing. Thanks for your efforts.
