Description Nicholas J Kreucher 2006-10-03 08:40:00 UTC
In GnuCash 1.8, the guppi graphs provided outstanding interactive features for pie and bar graphs. Example, double clicking on a pie wedge would draw a new pie graph zoomed in on the respective sub accounts; similar for bar graphs. Also one could click and bring up register windows for accounts directly from the graphs.

These features are sorely missed in GnuCash 2.x :(
Comment 1 Christian Stimming 2006-10-04 11:01:40 UTC
In other words: Yes, we know this is a regression with respect to
gnucash-1.8.x. However, it was difficult enough to get a different
(gnome2-enabled) charting engine integrated and running again (namely the
goffice library). First of all, goffice would need to provide slice-specific
callback functions, and (according to bug#343607 comment#1 ) this is not the case
currently. So first someone needs to implement this in goffice. Then we might
re-enable this again in gnucash. But for the time being this feature is simply
not available in any gnome2-enable charting engine.

confirming for svn
Comment 4 Adam Buchbinder 2009-05-01 18:03:40 UTC
I opened bug 580545 against goffice, requesting slice-specific callbacks.
Comment 5 Jean Bréfort 2009-05-23 09:43:17 UTC
I don't understand the point to open a bug against goffice. Everything you need is actually already there, IMHO. Somebody just need to reimplement things in gnucash.
Comment 6 Jean Bréfort 2009-11-07 16:54:58 UTC
What is needed exactly in goffice to fix this one? It's still time to fix the goffice side of the things before 0.8 if I know what is needed. Otherwise it will have to wait until later (may be much later).
