Description Karl Lattimer 2006-09-18 14:25:34 UTC
I have in the past used the .hidden file in gnome to hide files. There are two important features which are not available.

1) The file has to be created manually, right clicking and "Hide this file" or having a method in the properties dialog for achieving this would be appropriate.
2) Hiding files based on wild cards, for instance *.pyc should also be added. Possibly through a context menu item "Hide files of this type"

AFAIK no wildcards are supported in the .hidden file at present. I probably should have mentioned that I don't know how or if this is possible at present.

Renaming for clarity. I'm not entirely sure whether this should be provided by default. A script or plugin might be appropriate though.
