crash in Rhythmbox Music Player: I was trying to import a...

What were you doing when the application crashed? I was trying to import a folder of a few MP3s and Ogg Vorbis files. It kept freezing on me, and when I tried to hook gdb into it, it crashed. Whippee. Thanks for the bug report. Unfortunately, that stack trace is not very useful in determining the cause of the crash. Can you get us one with debugging symbols? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Judging by the symptoms, this is probably the same problem as bug 343443.
Created attachment 72580 [details] debug on import of folder of ogg tracks Here is the output of running "rhythmbox -d" and trying to import a folder of ogg music files. The ogg files should all be in good condition as I played them with a previous Rhythmbox version and still with other music players.
Hello. I cannot make it crash again (I think that was my fault with gdb) but the problem remains that it freezes when importing folders or individual files for me. I was going to report this to Ubuntu's issue tracker as I am using Edgy Eft, but I believe it was BugBuddy that automatically filed this for me. I tried re-installing this packaged version. I was originally sharing my music with DAAP, using the album cover and lyrics plugins, and had the directory I was importing set to be scanned regularly. I tried an import when I realised no new files were being picked up. And it froze. I have tried it with the above plugins and settings deactivated and it still freezes. I tried removing my current rhythmdb.xml and that does not help. During the very original import, it froze too, but the majority of my tracks were loaded into the DB. Subsequent imports while freezing load nothing. I have tried loading a folder of mixed files (mp3, ogg, subfolders, and other files), a single mp3, a folder of just ogg files, and a single Ogg Vorbis track, and it always freezes. I am wondering if Rhythmbox is blocking on a filesystem operation that is never happening?
If you're importing files using Music->Import File or Music->Import Folder, this is almost certainly a duplicate of bug 355409. As a workaround, you can import files using drag and drop from nautilus, or using rhythmbox-client <path>
Thanks. This is a duplicate then. Sorry I didn't see the other one. Thank you!
OK, marking as duplicate. Thanks for confirming. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 355409 ***
