Description Ole Craig 2006-09-08 16:54:53 UTC
Most of the UI improvements in 2.8 are fantastic, particularly the "wide" vertical view.

But the reversed message display is driving me nuts! Most of my emails are more than a page long (even on a vertically maximized window at 1920x1440) and I need to start reading at the top. After emerging Evo 2.8.0 it seems that all email displays (preview pane and single-message window both) default to showing the bottom/end of the email. Having to scroll up on *every*single*email* in order to start reading is not fun. I've looked for a preference to change this back and I can't find it. Help?

Other information:
Was this done in some misguided effort to discourage top-posting in email? It's not the Evo users you need to convert, it's the Exchange users. Guess what, one of the big reasons to use Evo is to interact with... Exchange users.

sounds strange. make sure that you have caret mode ("cursor mode") disabled

Sonofabitch, that did it. Thanks! (boy, do I feel dumb...)

Guess I assumed that view option had no bearing; I thought it had to do with thread mode and whether carets were shown. Sigh.
