GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 350648
Time slider changes size when seeking in fullscreen mode
Last modified: 2006-08-13 00:50:24 UTC
"Seek to" is prepended to "<position> / <total length>" when using the time slider in fullscreen mode. This causes the time slider to shrink. It also looks like this causes the seeking to be very innacurate. E.g. if you release the slider at 45:00 in a 90 minute movie you will actually seek to around 47:00 (it jumps when you release the slider). The effect gets worse the longer in to the movie you seek.
I think you can ignore the last paragraph. The same inaccuracy is displayed when seeking in window mode. Known problem? NOTGNOME? Or should I file another bug? That the slider changes size when seeking in fullscreen mode is still annoying though. ;)
The inaccuracy is dependant on the file format, the file itself, and the backend. You'd be better off filing a bug directly against xine-lib or GStreamer for this particular file if you think it could be done better. Thanks for the bug report.
