GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 349648
No easy way to print a single sheet of multiple copies of the same photo
Last modified: 2021-06-19 08:48:02 UTC
That bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/eog/+bug/42189 "This is a problem because it is trivial to accomplish this in Windows XP but is nearly impossible in Linux (meaning it is likely to be a "blocking" issue for people who need this functionality but otherwise wish to switch to Ubuntu or any other flavor of Linux). This problem especially impacts creative professionals with tasks such as printing a sheet of postcards, or photographers printing a sheet of wallet-size prints of the same photo. Windows XP's standard image printing functionality includes the ability to use the same picture several times on a proof sheet (IE: Printing a sheet of four copies of the same photo on a single sheet to cut apart later). I have found no easy way to do this in Ubuntu or Kubuntu (for that matter, I have found no way at all at this point in time). The app that comes closest to allowing this is gthumb, which allows using several pictures per page, but does not allow using the same image several times on one page. I would suggest contributing/requesting this functionality in "Eye of Gnome", as well as in the default image viewer used in Kubuntu (and every other major Ubuntu flavor). It might also be a good idea to contribute/request support for this in GIMP. Another solution might be to write an open-source image printing wizard that matches the Windows XP eqivalent as closely as possible."

That's a feature request, do you think that's not an option for the GNOME desktop? Reopening, looks like a correct wishlist
Gnome Photo Printer and also PhotoPrint ( http://www.blackfiveservices.co.uk/photoprint.shtml ) do similar things but do not accomplish the task requested here. Both of them print several images on the same paper, but if you want to print several copies of the same picture on the same paper, you have to drag and drop them N times. Now it's up to you to decide whether to suggest this enhancement to eog or to Gnome Photo Printer or PhotoPrint.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/eog/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
