Description Zaheer Abbas Merali 2006-08-02 07:51:48 UTC
There is a hang when screencasting in 8bpp mode.

To replicate:
Xvfb :1 -screen 0 1024x768x8 -fbdir /tmp -auth /tmp/X99.cfg
DISPLAY=:1 DISPLAY=:1 istanbul --coords=0,0,1023,767 --no-record-3d --record-mousepointer --no-record-sound -r blah1.ogg

/tmp/X99.cfg contains localhost

Try and give istanbul's pid a sigint or sigterm.

The file: blah1.ogg will be empty.
Comment 1 André Klapper 2018-07-02 10:49:57 UTC
istanbul is not under active development anymore and has not seen code
changes for eight years. Its codebase has been archived:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/istanbul/commits/master

See https://help.gnome.org/users/gnome-help/stable/screen-shot-record.html for screencast video options that are available in GNOME 3.

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project
to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the
responsibility for active development again.
