the remaining text was chopped off when submitting the report. here is the reamaining of it: steps to reproduce the problem: 1. setup some filters based on subject/receipents etc 2. apply all the filters on the incoming mail ( i having IMAP in this case) 3. some of the mails though pass the filter critera, doesn't get filtered out Actual Results: some mails are left out Expected Results: all the mails meeting the filter criteria should be filtered out How often does this happen? everytime/many times
I can confirm this bug. I receive a lot of email and have a lot of filters (around 35). It is routine for me to have to select the last few messages (sometimes many times) and use CTRL-Y. This is the most annoying Evolution bug I know of at present. It seems to work better if I select just a few filters. Also filtering is really quite slow. I am using a dovecot imap server with Maildir (now U of W). I am using Evolution 2.10.1 in Ubuntu Feisty.
This appears to be the same as bug 422919.
In my case, this may be a result of having two clients accessing the IMAP account simultaneously, and not having all filters set the same on all clients. Maybe we shouldn't rely on the new flag. Is there something else that could be done? Rob
