Description Fabio Bonelli 2006-06-22 22:47:47 UTC
This is a strange bug.

Try to play a DVD and browse totem's menu. Sometimes, when you are in the View->Subtitles submenu, all the GUI (and the rest of the desktop) locks.
The only way to get out of there is to kill totem from a physical console.

It seems, *maybe* (I'm not really sure), that the change of chapter during the normal reproduction is the one to blame.
Steps:
- Pick a DVD with multiple chapters, it has to have two adjacent chapters each of these with different subtitles (e.g. one with no subtitles and the other with 3 subtitles). This is common because usually the DVD menus have no subtitles, while the movie/documentary/whatever has them.
- Go to View->Subtitles and stay there, until the player changes chapter.
- Lock!

I'm setting this to Major becase this is like a system crash to a common user.

Which version of Totem have you tried? Sounds like #342411 which Tim has already fixed.
Comment 3 Fabio Bonelli 2006-06-23 10:12:19 UTC
Indeed this bug is fixed in 1.5.2, sorry for the spam.
Comment 4 Bastien Nocera 2006-06-23 10:15:27 UTC
I guess you mean CVS, as the patch was committed straight after 1.5.2 was released.
Comment 5 Fabio Bonelli 2006-06-23 10:19:41 UTC
Yes, CVS. :)
