GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 345335
Correctly handle DAP devices which also contain Photos
Last modified: 2007-09-11 15:08:10 UTC
Some time ago g-v-m stopped popping up the "would you like to import your new photos" dialog when I connect my mobile phone (Sony Ericcson K750i) to the PC. Instead, g-v-m runs the application for DAP devices. This is correct but it should still ask for the photos. I posted this question to the HAL mailing list, you can read the relevant message from David Zeuthen here: http://lists.freedesktop.org/pipermail/hal/2006-June/005507.html So what has to be done is a check for the photo directory regardless if the device is a DAP or not and ask the user which action to do (import photos, open music management application or do nothing).
fixed in CVS
I have to reopen this bug because after updating to the latest unstable GNOME I found that the problem re-appeared (kind of): if the "digital camera" import option is activated, it will prompt me if I want to import the fotos. If also the "Portable music player" is activated, it will only start banshee (or whatever is set). This looks like an unwanted regression.
Also: it now always seems to see photos on the device, even if there are no photos at all...
Can this be fixed before the 2.18.0 release?
fixed in svn
