Distribution: Ubuntu 6.06 (dapper) Package: evince Severity: major Version: GNOME2.14.2 0.5.x Gnome-Distributor: Ubuntu Synopsis: crash on text select Bugzilla-Product: evince Bugzilla-Component: general Bugzilla-Version: 0.5.x BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.14.1) Description: Description of the crash: When viewing certain PDFs (generated, I believe, from MS Powerpoint), and using the mouse to select lines of text, evince will unexpectedly crash. This does not occur with all PDFs, and not with most pages/paragraphs within an offending PDF. However, it does occur 100% consistently when dragging the selection at the same place in the text for a given offending file. Steps to reproduce the crash: 1. open offending PDF with evince 2. go to offending page/paragraph 3. click mouse and drag over region of text Expected Results: evince crashes How often does this happen? With an offending file, every time. Additional Information: Debugging Information: Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/evince' (no debugging symbols found) Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/i686/cmov/libthread_db.so.1".
