Last modified: 2013-09-10 14:04:44 UTC
Please describe the problem: Evolution-calendar failes to validate updated date/time of task when using "Norwegian Nynorsk" as language for session. Steps to reproduce: 1. Select "Norwegian Nynorsk" as language for session 2. Start Evolution 3. Create an appointment in the calendar 4. Open the appointment and change date or time 5. Try to save the appointment Actual results: Error-dialog about invalid date/time Expected results: Saved/updated appointment Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: Works correctly when using English or "Norwegian Bokmål" as language.
This looks like a duplicate of bug 330592, but that was supposed to be fixed prior to evolution 2.6.x from the comments. Could you verify the version of Evolution that you are using?
"Help->About" says "2.6.1" "dpkg -l evolution" says "2.6.1-0ubuntu7"
i expect "nn_NO.utf8" to be the locale for this? (please enter "locale" in a terminal window and post the output here)
~$ locale LANG=nn_NO.UTF-8 LANGUAGE=nn_NO.UTF-8 LC_CTYPE="nn_NO.UTF-8" LC_NUMERIC="nn_NO.UTF-8" LC_TIME="nn_NO.UTF-8" LC_COLLATE="nn_NO.UTF-8" LC_MONETARY="nn_NO.UTF-8" LC_MESSAGES="nn_NO.UTF-8" LC_PAPER="nn_NO.UTF-8" LC_NAME="nn_NO.UTF-8" LC_ADDRESS="nn_NO.UTF-8" LC_TELEPHONE="nn_NO.UTF-8" LC_MEASUREMENT="nn_NO.UTF-8" LC_IDENTIFICATION="nn_NO.UTF-8" LC_ALL=

Ubuntu bug about that: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/58210
I have the same problem on 2.10.0-0ubuntu A possible workaround might be to use the format hh.mm. It works for me (but I must choose it for both start and end.)
This one was solved for me a couple of weeks ago (2007-04-12, I guess, see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/58210 ) in an update from Ubuntu.
I can confirm that the bug is there in 2.6.3 with locales fi_FI.UTF-8 and nn_NO.UTF-8. It is fixed in 2.10.1 for the same locales. Please close.
This bug is still present in Evolution 2.12.1 (Ubuntu 7.10). I'm using polish (PL_pl) locale.
(In reply to comment #10) > This bug is still present in Evolution 2.12.1 (Ubuntu 7.10). I'm using polish > (PL_pl) locale. I tested this with actual development version, which is mostly same with 2.24.0 and it's working fine with both nn_NO.UTF-8 and pl_PL.UTF-8 (running evolution as this command: $ LANG=xxx evolution Because of that I'm closing this bug, but feel free to reopen in case you see this again for other locale (which should not happen, I hope).
