GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 343946
Help files open in a text editor
Last modified: 2008-01-15 13:08:32 UTC
Please describe the problem: When I go to the Help menu and click on "Help", the .html help page is opened in my default text editor, not the browser. And I know that .html files are still associate with my browser because if I double click on a .html file from windows explorer it will open in my browser. Steps to reproduce: 1. From the GIMP main window click on the Help menu 2. Click on the Help menu item 3. Actual results: The .html help page opens in my default text editor, not my browser Expected results: I would expect the help system to open in my browser. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
This seems to be an old problem and a duplicate of #158463. Afaik, there is no way to provide a fix for this. I leave this bug still as UNCONFIRMED, so that some other developers can comment.
Art, if your browser setup is screwed up, please use the internal help-browser. You can configure GIMP to do this in the Preferences dialog.
Thanx for Comment #2 I didn't realize there was an option for this in the preferences. This is working for me. :) Art
